Yama is the yogic practice of choosing moral restraint in ones external reactions.

"Ahimsa is not merely a negative state of harmlessness but is a positive state of love, of doing good, even to the evil-doer. But it does not mean meek submission to the will of the evil-doer: it means the putting of one's whole soul against his will."     Mahatma Ghandi

AHIMSA YAMA

The first in this series of monthly experiential Kundalini Yoga and Meditation workshops addressing the five Yamas through sound, movement and personal reflection.

Facilitated by Darryl O'Keeffe

Sunday 30th January 2005

10.30 am - 3.30 pm

Northolt

£35

This workshop takes place on the anniversary of the death of Mahatma Ghandi who demonstrated the power of non-violence and who was probably the greatest proponent of the practice ahimsa in modern times. The workshop will address: compassion, patience, love for others, self-love, worthiness and understanding - through the consciousness of the soul.

Although complete in itself this workshop is also part of an ongoing series of monthly Kundalini Yoga based workshops facilitating personal transformation through meditation, mantra, movement and personal reflection.

They are attended by a wide range of people and have proved to be effective, informative and fun.

This workshop will take place in Northolt (NW London) and is facilitated by Darryl O'Keeffe: co-author (with Guru Dharam Singh) of Kundalini the Essence of Yoga aka The Kundalini Yoga Experience and a respected holistic teacher and practitioner for 2 decades.

No previous experience or special ability is required but places are limited and must be pre-booked. It is not necessary to attend other workshops in the series as each is complete in itself.

The workshop will finish with shared vegetarian food.

Northolt is in north west London between Ealing and Harrow and easily accessible by car (A40, M40, M25)or public transport (140 bus from Heathrow). The venue is walking distance from Northolt Station on the Central Line.

The cost of booking one workshop is £35. If two workshops are booked at one time the combined cost is £65. If 3 or more workshops are booked together the combined cost is £90. The incentive to book in advance is the securing of your place.
Places are limited and must be prebooked.
