Sat Nam Dear Friend
Thank you for your interest in the School of
Kundalini Yoga Instructors course, which is licensed by KRI, the Kundalini Research
Institute of the USA, as Level 1 of the international Teacher Training
Programme approved by Yogi Bhajan, recognised by the Yoga Alliance and which
leads to membership of the International Kundalini Yoga Teachers Association.
Due to the increasing demand
for our courses and retreats, SKY now also offer programmes in
This year sees the start of our 13th annual
cycle of what has proved to be a very successful and rewarding course
programme. Successful in that SKY offers the longest established Kundalini Yoga
training course in the UK, each year empowering more and more competent
teachers, and rewarding for those individuals who have chosen to explore their
own self-awareness through this ancient technology.
Every year several students join us with
little awareness of their intention to teach but with a genuine motivation to
deepen their understanding of the process that Kundalini Yoga has sparked
within them. Every year several of those students discover themselves, in the
realisation that we are all teachers in the making.
The course itself has developed over the years
and is now offered in over 20 different countries. The definitive 220 hour
syllabus is now supported by two excellent course manuals and enjoys
international recognition by the Yoga

We firmly believe that
experience is the key to understanding, so you have several opportunities to
experience this course before committing yourself to registering as a student.
Firstly our annual yoga retreat in May offers the opportunity to meet with past
and present students and teachers and get a flavour of the SKY style. Secondly
you can attend Part 1 &/or 2 of the course, with no obligation to continue
the course further unless you then choose to do so. Please note though, that
the demand for places on our courses now means that only those who register for
the course in advance will be assured of a place. Several places are now
reserved a year in advance and some late applicants may be disappointed.
The final part of the course
encompasses a yoga retreat which is open to all students of Kundalini Yoga and
which affords instruction opportunities for our graduating students.

Yoga is a path of self-development, a path to the realisation that
all is One. Yoga means the "union of all".
All yogic paths lead to an
awareness of the subtle energy centres or chakras and the latent spiritual
energy of Kundalini. It may be truly said that Kundalini is the point of union
of all paths of yoga.
Kundalini Yoga facilitates the integration of body, mind and soul through
achieving, maintaining and expanding a state of higher consciousness. This
state is reached through asanas (physical exercises and postures), pranayama
(breath control), meditation, relaxation, yogic philosophy and a yogic
lifestyle as shared, taught and practised on this course.
"Experience
is the key. It is experience that validates our understanding.
Experience
goes right into the heart. No words can replace experience." Yogi Bhajan
This course, therefore, is essentially experiential.
Sadhana is the foundation of the spiritual technology that is
Kundalini Yoga and forms the backbone of this residential course. The group

Today many people recognise the unhealthy imbalances
of modern life and a veritable industry has grown up to "restore
balance".
Imbalance is inherent in a
society which has forgotten to wonder at life and to human beings who have
allowed themselves to become removed from the natural rhythms of nature. When
better to retreat into nature and seek to restore balance than at the time of

Our Main Venues
Ufton Court
The beautiful Ufton Court is a timber framed Elizabethan
house incorporating an earlier medieval manor house set in extensive wooded
grounds. Some of the present house still dates from the 15th century, including
the crossway of the great hall with the original buttery and pantry doors. It
contains a number of secret priest holes, a small oratory and several
interesting old wall paintings. The impressive Tithe barn offers an excellent
space for our group activities with other group spaces such as the Great Hall
and Minstrels gallery available in the main house which also houses the
refectory and our dormitory style accommodation. The 16 acres of picturesque
grounds include a series of mediaeval fishponds and herb and walled gardens and
provide a fine setting for meditation and contemplation.
Hazel Hill Wood
The Oakhouse is the main indoor gathering
place, graceful and comfortable; fully insulated and heated. It includes a 21' x 21' group room, lean-to
dining area, sleeping space for 16 women and an indoor composting loo. Heated by wood burning stove and lit by
low-voltage solar electricity. The Longhouse includes a kitchen with a full
domestic size propane gas cooker, small gas fridge, storage cupboards and
crockery and utensils for up to 24 people plus a comfortable sleeping loft for
8 men, showers, and a drying room/sauna.
Heated by wood burning stove, with low-voltage lighting. The two
user-friendly composting loos have received high praise for comfort and
pleasant views. The Roundhouse is a large covered open-air circular space,
diameter 26', with an earth floor. It
has a stone fireplace, is well suited to active group sessions and can also be
used for undercover sleeping. At the heart of the wood is a seven-acre area of

I
wish to apply for all/some of the SKY course Parts as detailed below.
I

abide by these decisions. I undertake to arrive in good time and to attend each
Part in total. I understand the cost of the Course to be £1700 if paid in full
prior to my first weekend (including KRI registration, course manual, KYTA

I
have attached a summary of my yoga and life experience and stated my reasons
for wishing to do this course (two A4 page maximum).
